Salary : $30.26 to $34.94 per hour

Emergency Medical Service provides pre-hospital care and patient transport from referring health care facilities to secondary/tertiary health care centers.

The ideal candidate will be a nurse that is interested in providing quality care to critically ill patients in pre-hospital and areomedical settings.  You will be an energetic, positive, patient advocate that loves to work in the fast paced environment of emergency medical services.  If flexible, adaptable, and being a good team player describes you, we’re interested in hearing from you.

• Considerable experience in emergency and/or ICU working with ventilated patients.
• BScN or Nursing Diploma.
• Current ACLS and BTLS or TNCC.
• Current PALS or ENPC.
• Eligible for registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association with no conditions/restrictions.
• Previous flight nurse, or outpost nursing and pre-hospital ambulance, BLS or ALS level would be an asset.
• Completion of aviation ground school training is desirable.

Condition(s) of Employment:  Pre-employment medical clearance with TB testing, baseline hearing testing, security clearance and Class 4 driver’s licence.

Job Requirements(s): Shift work including weekend and wearing a uniform.

A one-year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.
